Living Outside the Safety Net - Family Equality Symposium
This Symposium is an interactive two-day session designed to launch the results of the Demographic Survey of Same-Sex Couples in Belize, to analyse the data collected and to develop an approach to initiating reform based on the data gathered. The overall goal of the “Living Outside the Safety Net Symposium” is to serve as a platform for the national community to dialogue on important issues confronting the institution of the family and the inequality which exists for Diverse and Rainbow Families in Belize, as we move forward to achieve the tenets expressed in Horizon 2030 National Framework as well as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The “Living Outside the Safety Net Symposium” intends to bring together key Government Representatives, Private Sector Representatives, Parliamentarians, Faith Based Representatives, Civil Society Organizations and Community Members in looking to establish a way forward. The institution of family affects the entire community and therefore is best managed and delivered when key stakeholders such as yourself participates in collaborative planning symposiums such as this.
