Opportunities for CSOs and Human Rights Defenders
Our Circle invites all interested civil society organizations (CSO) and human rights defenders (HRD) to apply for this Call for Expression of Interest for capacity building under the Strengthening Human Rights Defenders in Belize Project. Through this project, Our Circle aims to strengthen civil society’s role in democratic local governance, accountability, and local development in Belize by improving the technical capacities and the effectiveness of Belizean CSOs and HRDs.
This is a call for CSOs and HRDs interested in improving skills in leadership, financial management, computer, project planning and communication while building strategic alliances with local municipalities and other local decision-makers to deliver community activity and service delivery.

CSO/HRD Capacity Building CourseA ten-day skills course for CSOs and HRDs to learn how to strengthen project proposals to include partnerships with municipalities to deliver realistic, useful, and achievable projects.

Thinking and Working StrategicallyAn eight-day capacity building course in advanced skills in thinking and working strategically for relationship development to improve community-based activity and service delivery with a focus on engagement with municipalities, inclusion of marginalised groups, and local context dynamics.

Capacity Development Plan Technical SupportOur technical partners will support CSOs and HRDs to identify skills and develop a comprehensive plan and timeline to develop their advocacy skills and in turn improving the impact of their engagements.
